2021-2022 is going to be one of the most exciting years in the studio. I have on my wall a beautiful banner, with company logo, set aside for handprints of students who have achieved the five-year mark. This year, some students who joined me during Pfafftown Piano's opening year will achieve just that. Read on to find out what's so special about this banner.
The process of painting a hardworking student's hand is so meaningful, preparing him or her to make a permanent handprint on the five-year banner, to hang permanently on my wall. Right now there is only one handprint on the banner - Sarah's - because Sarah started with me long before Pfafftown Piano opened. But this year, I'm expecting many of my other beloved piano students to take a few minutes of lesson time to paint, stick, sign, and celebrate.
In five years' time, some have worked through several levels of method books. Some have grown from three-year-old beginner preschooler to elementary-aged capable piano student. Some have won awards, scored "superior" in competition, and become adept enough to play in church. Some five year students have mastered advanced theory concepts and written original compositions.
For me, five years have passed without any weariness of my spirit, and I remain energized by every lesson with every single student.
